Michelle Deasy - Interview

I have to say, one of the most pleasant things I have ever read is this interview. Michelle is truly a sweetheart and is such an amazing woman.

She has done everything in her life with a smile and a bubbly, friendly attitude which attracts people like moths to a light.

She honestly is a light in her own way!

By shining the moment she enters a room with a can-do approach.

This is for sure why she has become so successful and completed everything so far that she has set her mind to, and I don’t doubt there is so much more this lady is capable of!

Where did you start out? Why the beauty industry?

I started out my training in a private beauty collage called The institute of Body and Beauty eight years ago.

I was always into being glam, beauty and make up and from school I knew along with everyone else I'd end up with a career in beauty!

I've since gone on to do many other courses in my beauty career including gel nails,ear piercing, skin training in dermalogica and skinician ,hot stone massage a few make up courses with Inglot and my most recent make up artistry course that I've

just completed.

How did you begin building such a successful career? Who is your inspiration?

I've so many people who inspire me in my career especially in make up, from local talented artists to the amazing Danielle Robberts (who I recently had the pleasure of doing a make up masterclass with)

Martha Ryan MUA and Jimmy Collins whos work I not only followed and admired but was lucky enough to get trained by!

Another big inspiration of mine is my boss Ciara Hayes who is currently living her dream in her own hair and beauty salon.

Despite all the set backs and everything that stood in her way, she never gave up! She fought hard and is still fighting and knowing just what she went through to achieve her dream inspires me everyday to live mine.

When did you decide what you were going to do? How did it all fall into place?

After leaving school early due to becoming a teenage mum, I went into the hairdressing world for a few years but discovered it wasn't really for me, although I liked it I wasn't passionate about it I knew my heart belonged in beauty.

I couldn't go to collage as I had a young daughter so when I discovered a private beauty collage in ennis, I knew with only a half hour bus trip it was more do-able so I signed up and got my beauty diploma.

You have three gorgeous children, two girls among the three! Do you think they will grow up to be little beauty gurus like yourself?

My eldest daughter Chloe, although in 2nd year has absolutely no interest in the beauty world or make up!

I sometimes joke she was swopped at birth as at her age I was going to school like I was going to a niteclub with my winged eyeliner which back then wasn't as in as it is now!

So I got alot of slagging about flying away with my wings!

But HA look who's laughing now! I was in trend even before my time lol!

She is only 13 though, and it seems to be slowly changing.

As for my other little diva Holly-May, she can't leave the house with out her lipstick and eyeshadow on even at the age of 6 and she says she wants to be a make up and beauty artist like mummy when she's bigger so I think she will follow in my footsteps.

You work in Trifecta in Ennis at the moment, tell us about it

I'm currently working in an amazing hair and beauty salon in Ennis on the Gort Road called Trifecta we are a young, hip salon and a one stop shop providing services from hair, beauty,make up and extenstions !

There's 13 of us working there between the hair beauty and nails and we're like a big family! Everyone gets on and we really are the best of friends!

Despite only being open a year in September, we recently won the award for best salon in ennis choosen by the people so for only that length of time, we're doing great already and you can certainly expect much more success and awards to come from myself and Trifecta in the coming years whoever hasn't already checked us out head over to our Facebook page now :)

What qualification of yours do you most identify with/ love doing the most? Hair , makeup , nails etc and why?

Although I love all beauty and it's great to do such variety in my job, my absolute passion is make up!

I live eat and breath it! It's the real reason I wanted to become a beautician in the first place, I've started to focus a lot more on the make up side in the last year and I'm lucky with Trifecta I get requested to do a lot of it and it's my absolute dream to become successful as a makeup artist as well as in the beauty industy.

Best hair care products on the shelves right now

What with working in a hair and beauty salon, I get to learn whats the hottest hair products in demand and 2 of the hottest things on the shelves right now has got to be the Elements range and Nioxin for sure!

The Elements range is free from sulphates, parables and artificial colorants meaning it is also safe to use on hair extensions, the renew shampoo works to rehydrate nourish and protect damaged hair caring for it from root to tip it's also gentle enough to use everyday.

Anybody who has thining or very thin hair then the Nioxin range will be your best friend, it effectively targets thining hair using advanced technology based on skin care and promotes optimum hair health from root to tip creating fuller denser looking hair or for an easy boot of extra thickness the diaboost thicking extra fusion treatment is a God-send.

I'm a big fan of both ranges and anyone who's intrested in the Nioxin should deffently pop into the salon for a free consultation it's really helped thicking my locks.

Top beauty brands you’d recommend

My top beauty brands have got to be;

For skincare- the amazing Skinician. Not many people have heard about this brand and it's such a sin, because not only is it amazing and really works but it was developed by beauty therapists for beauty therapists and who knows more about skincare and beauty then us!

The best part is the price it's so so affordable that you could be mistaken for thinking it couldn't possibly work as well as the likes of Dermalogica.

But trust me, as a past Dermalogica junkie I was shocked just how good it is

and for less then half the price!

Skinician has won loads of awards and was featured on Xposé.

We both use it in our treatments in Trifecta and retail it too.

My other reccomended Beauty rands are;

For make up- Inglot, because they have so many amazing products, the pigments in their eyeshadows are no short of incredible, the gel liner is the best in the world and

will not move!

Whenever I go into Inglot, I just want it all!

The other beauty brand has be Karaja and not because I work with it but the skin velvet foundation is just amazing, it's been compared to double wear but what's even better is it has the same amazing coverage and lasting power without drying out your skin like the double wear can!

There's so many lovely products, plus this range is used on the catwalks in Milan so if it's good enough for catwalk it's good enough for us!

Your 5 GO TO items in your beauty regimen

My 5 go to beauty products in my beauty regimen are;

Rivta lash it's an amazing serum that not only increases eyelash length, but thickness too it's incredible and I use it every night without fail I'm always getting asked if my lashes are real and it's all thanks to this little beauty definitely worth every penny!
No 2 is my Skinician eye repair cream a must every morning and night
Number 3 are my day and night creams
Number 4 is Anastasia dip brow for my eyebrows
Number 5 is my Argan oil repair serum it's beautiful

Any future projects/ events you’d like to talk about? What can we expect from Michelle Deasy in the future?

You can certainly expect a lot from me in the upcoming future.

I'm working very hard to try get my name and talents known, the road is still very long and I've a fair bit still left to achieve but I'm fully confident that one day you are all going to see my name In lights!

Where would you like to be in your career in the next ten years

In the next 10 years I'd like to see myself with my own successful business with a well-known name and to have achieved as much as I possibly can.

The limits are endless and if the last year alone is anything to go by I can't imagine how far or how much more I'll have achieved in another 10years time!
