Hello my loves!

 

It’s been awhile since I have added to my series KIRSTONIFIEDS KWICK HEALTH TIPS, but seeing as I’m back at the gym, back getting fit and eating right after really trashing my body up during this college year!

 

But in fairness, in your first year of college believe me you DO NOT have the time to cook nutritious meals like mammy and daddy do for you at home, and even if you knew how to cook and had the time, would you really know what to buy and how to prepare it to get MAXIMUM health benefits?

 

I wouldn’t!

Until I did a bit of digging and little bit of research, and VOILA!

 

I’ve created the perfect shopping list for GOOD healthy eating, on a BUDGET!

So now you have no excuse!

And P.S. don’t freak if you gain a little weight during college, it happens to everyone! I’m about two stone up nearly since last summer, and that was due to quitting smoking, a hell of a lot of drinking and of course ordering take-out because I didn’t have time to cook!

 

Now lets begin!

  • For bad fats, such as oils, the portion amount is about from the tip of your thumb to the knuckle. (You can double the portion size for a single serving of peanut butter!)

  • For your fruits, and other sugars including ice cream, about the size of a clenched fist is sufficient.

  • The recommended serving size of meat is about the size of your palm, which is 3oZ.

  • To avoid a lot of calories, keep your carbs to about the size of the front of your clenched fist.

  • For veggies in a balanced diet, the recommended portion size is about the size of both your hands cupped together.

  • Look at your finger tip, that’s the amount of butter your toast needs. No more, no less!
